Whirlwind, a diptych, is based on the Persian word bād (wind).

In one canvas the word unfolds in round spirals, in the other in square spirals, as if the force of the whirlwind inhabits both fluid and rigid forms. The swirling patterns evoke the wind’s restless, playful force,  the way it sweeps us along.
